{"product_id":"distilling-hydrosols-and-essential-oils-workshop","title":"Distilling Hydrosols and Essential Oils Workshop","description":"\u003cp\u003eCome learn the art of making Hydrosols and Essential Oils! \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSunday August 16th, 2026\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e10:00am - 2:00pm\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAt Sweet Mountaintop Farm (located on Rincon Mountain approximately 15 minutes outside of Carpinteria toward Ojai)\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eWhat does participation in this workshop look like?\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e-As a group we have an opening circle where we all introduce ourselves and talk about who we are and what inspired us to be at the workshop.  After that the entire class collectively helps harvest the plant material that is to be loaded into the still, and then we all get to help load the plant material into the still.  We will then fire up the still and go through the entire process of turning that raw plant material into hydrosol and oil.  During the distillation process Rob will give a detailed explanation\/lecture on how the distillation process works, as well as some considerations for thinking about your own distillation practice.  You will leave the workshop with the experience and knowledge to be able to create your own hydrosols and essential oils.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eAt the end of the workshop, you will get to take home a 5ml bottle of the essential oil that we created, as well as a 4 OZ spray bottle of the hydrosol that we created. With similar properties to essential oils, these aromatic waters are much less concentrated. Their aromas are often soft and subtle when compared to their essential oil counterpart. These aromatic products usually have a scent similar to their essential oil, but also can have a greener note.
